1. Diversify marketing and promotion channels:
Try to do some advertisement online. There are more and more people who will search furniture store online before they do actual shopping. This will bring you a great opportunity. What you can do is to advertise with google adwords. Google is one of the biggest search engine in the world and lots of people having the habits to search anything on google. By advertising on google, you will be able to get lots of fresh and quality leads. Since not lots of business owners in this industry knowing about this, then you should be one.
2. Liquidate your products
The key to survive right now is cash flow. A good cash flow can make you survive even you don’t make money. So a very important factor that we have to keep in mind is we should always keeping as minimum inventory as possible during winter so we have enough money to cover the costs.
3. Diversify our business
There is another strategy we can do is to diversify our business. Don’t just stick in a small niche. Because we are paying thousand of dollors to do advertisement every month then why not add some extra stream of income. For example, we can also sell hardwood flooring. You don’t need to put extra space and you can start to do business right away by contacting a local hardwood flooring wholesaler to put some samples in your showroom. Surprisely you will see your sales going up.
4. Update your product structure
What doest that mean? You can take a look of your showroom and ask yourself a question, who will be my target audience? People owning a house or people living in an appartment or people like traditional style? Think out of the box. Maybe this is a great time to explorer some new products and atract some new customeres.
Business will be getting better if we know what we doing. Instead of doing nothing, we should be proactive and eventually we will be winners if we can survive.
